Cat Department Manager

The Cat Department Manager is a full time position which focuses on managing all personnel aspects and programming for the rescue, intake, permanent and temporary placement, and outreach to colony caretakers. The Cat Department manager's work is to manage all of Faithful Friends programs working to save cats and support those who individuals feeding free roaming cats in the community.   

  • Full-time / Salaried position
  • Management / supervisory skills required
  • Good organization skills; ability to multi-task and change tasks as emergencies arise
  • Good communication skills on the phone and in person
  • Ability to work with and communicate with people from all walks of life and stay calm in challenging situations
  • Must be flexible with availability
  • Must be able to work in busy environment
  • Must be knowledgeable about cats and kittens and general pet care
  • Experience dealing with emotionally charged or urgent situations related to animal welfare or human services is a plus
  • Respectful off all dog and cat breeds
  • Background check and drug screening required

Off-site Cat Adoption Center Coordinator - Middletown
Part-time / Staff Position

  • 15-20 hours / week
  • Job responsibilities include cleaning cat cages, transporting cats from shelter to store, schedule adoptions and meet with adopters, train volunteers and maintain volunteer schedule
  • Must be flexible with availability and must work mornings
  • Experience dealing with emotionally charged or urgent situations related to animal welfare or human services is a plus
  • Must be knowledgeable about dogs and cats and general pet care
  • Must be organized and computer literate with strong interpersonal skills on the phone and in person

Facility Maintenance, Janitor, and Groundskeeper
Part-time / Staff Position

The Facility Maintenance, Janitor and Groundskeeper position is a physical job that requires someone who is reliable and can work in a fast-paced, caring environment.  Interested candidates meeting the below requirements should email their resume and two references to jeannie@faithfulfriends.us.

  • Some day and evening shifts – must be flexible with availability

  • Basic repairs and maintenance – training provided if needed
  • Ground maintenance including snow removal, lawn and landscaping
  • Unload deliveries – must be able to lift 50+ lbs.

Veterinary Assistant
Full-time / Staff Position

We are currently seeking to hire an experienced vet tech to join our team. As a veterinary assistant you will assist the veterinarian during appointments and surgeries in our low cost veterinary care program. Strong listening and communication skills coupled with a passion for education and learning are what our ideal candidate will possess. This is a high volume, fast paced environment where our mission is to provide excellent service at a reasonable rate to keep pets happy, healthy and with their families. Veterinary assistant experience is required, as well as a friendly and warm personality. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and be able to learn new software. The Dog Caretaker position is a minimum wage, labor intensive, physical job that requires someone who is reliable and can handle dogs of all sizes up to 100 lbs. in a fast-paced, caring environment.
