Faithful Friends Animal Society is seeking a self-starter with a passion to expand access to care through providing quality, lower-cost veterinary care to those in need. Collaborate with a progressive team of shelter veterinary professionals at Faithful Friends Animal Society in northern Delaware. This position is available to veterinarians seeking an opportunity to learn and develop leadership, interpersonal and managerial skills as we work together to lead and develop the public-facing sides of our non-profit veterinary clinic.

Faithful Friends Animal Society is a comprehensive, nonprofit animal welfare organization that serves 18,000 pets and 24,000 people a year. We operate a No Kill animal shelter and a stand-alone community veterinary clinic in Delaware. Our compassionate organization provides various programs and services to pet owners to reduce pet relinquishment. The Faithful Friends Animal Clinic provides preventative medicine, basic sick care, and minor surgeries to owned pets and to community cats. We are in search of a PART-TIME or FULL-TIME VETERINARIAN who advocates for pets, educates clients on all aspects of pet health, ensures a safe and effective environment, and improves the medical quality and business performance of the Clinic. The Clinic has dedicated exam rooms, on-site lab, reception area, outdoor seating, supportive front desk staff and skilled veterinary technicians. We will consider relief veterinarians too.

 Provide compassionate, quality preventative and basic wellness/sick care to
patients using low stress handling techniques
 Oversee all aspects of veterinary care during a clinic day including physical
examination, diagnostics, treatment recommendations and prescribing of
 Communicate with clients in a respectful way, discuss physical examination and
test results to allow pet owners to make informed decisions about their pet’s care

No emergency calls. No on-call shifts. Flexible schedule opportunities Monday through
Friday, with two Saturdays per month. Funds available to cover CE credits, professional
association fees, veterinary license fee, and controlled-drug renewals. Competitive salary
commensurate with experience.
 DVM degree (or equivalent) with Delaware veterinary license
 Experience in general small animal practice or shelter medicine required
 Must be able to hold a DEA license
Ability to perform surgery
High volume spay/neuter training at the Humane Alliance or related training
Fear-Free program certification
Experience with life-saving surgeries in a Non-ER setting

Our nearest commercial airport is Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).
