Axel is ready to find his forever home! At 2.5 years old and just under 40 pounds, Axel is an incredible companion who is playful, super cuddly, and obsessed with playing fetch. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations.
Axel’s story begins more than a year ago when we adopted him from a reputable rescue agency in New York City and since then, he has changed our lives in so many incredible ways. We are heartbroken to be looking to re-home him, but with a new baby joining the family soon, it is an unfortunate situation that we are in. Axel is exceptionally obedient. He is crate-trained and follows “sit”, “stay”, “heel”, “place”, and “come” with high proficiency. Axel is e-collar trained, although rarely, if ever, requires the use of it in a suburban setting. In New York City, Axel struggles with leash aggression when provoked by other dogs. We have temporarily moved to the suburbs and his behavior on a leash has been flawless, but with infants / toddlers in the family, it is a risk we cannot take. Axel would thrive in a home with a yard and a loving family without young children. We are devastated that we won’t be a part of Axel’s future, but can’t wait to find him another loving family in a setting that better suits him. He is a truly exceptional dog that we have loved as a part of our family. Please reach out with any questions!
