Adopt a Pet

Our adoption coordinators get to know each animal and will pair you with the perfect match for your family or situation. Some animals are featured right here on our website – check out the animal profiles below. Scroll down to view cats, dogs, and other animals available for adoption. Many animals are waiting for homes! You can meet them in person at our shelter in New Castle, Delaware. Once ready, click the “Adopt a” buttons below to fill out an application!

Occasionally Faithful Friends takes in a small pet that is neither a cat nor a dog. Whether it is a rabbit, guinea pig, or ferret, we help them find a new space to call home. Please check back with us periodically for future adoptable animals or other animals in need.

Sometimes there are unavoidable circumstances that result in a family needing to rehome their beloved family pet. Without judgement, Faithful Friends offers guidance and promotional support to help pet owners privately find new loving homes without relinquishing their pets to our shelter. These are OWNED pets who are not at our shelter but need to find new homes.

When you open your home to foster a shelter pet, you offer a safe, loving place away from the shelter while that pet awaits an adopter. Faithful Friends provides medical care and, if needed, pet food while the animal lives with you. There are a variety of foster care needs, we have animals looking for short-term fostering, long-term fostering, and hospice fostering. Have questions about fostering? View our FAQ’s HERE.
