Customer Care Representative
We are currently seeking two mature front desk individuals who are able to provide professional customer service in a hectic, fast-paced environment. Experience dealing with emotionally charged or urgent situations related to animal welfare and human services, and ability to remain calm under pressure. Must be knowledgeable about dogs and cats and general good pet care, not fearful, and demonstrate a passion for helping people and animals. Bi-lingual a plus.
- 20-30 hours/week Monday through Saturday and flexible with availability
- Knowledge of customer service etiquette including a pleasant phone voice and manner
- Organized, detail-oriented, reliable, patient, empathetic and non-judgmental
- Ability to calmly deal with emotionally charged and urgent situations
- Ability to multitask
- Respectful of all dog and cat breeds
- Clean and prepare front for public services and maintain orderly appearance
- Greet and direct public
- Provide guidance and counseling by phone and in person
- Field customer calls – clear messages, return and answer phone calls
- Advise public of programs and services
- Provide information and support to department managers and other personnel
- Maintain regular communication with managers and other key staff and volunteers
- Coordinate animal intake with appropriate departments
- Oversee all aspects of pet food bank
- Sell basic clinic products
- Accept monetary and in-kind donations and provide receipts
- Provide information on and contact other facilities when full
- Check office equipment to ensure in working order
- Prepare adoption packets
- Restock forms, flyers, informational packets
- Monitor inventory of office supplies
- Handle daily mailings and other administrative tasks as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Must have reliable transportation and be punctual
