Rehoming: Lulu
Her name is Lulu and I adopted her from a shelter about 3 years ago when she was a kitten. Since then, my wife and I have been working tirelessly to manage her anxiety issues (aggression toward our other cats, urinating outside of the litter box). We have taken her to the vet and she has a clean bill of health and we were told her issues are behavioral. We have had her on different anxiety medications, have loaded up our home with feliway, gave her an entire floor of the house to herself with her own feeders and litter box away from the other cats, along with other methods recommended by our vet. Unfortunately, it is only getting worse and we recently had a baby so that’s a big change she has been struggling with. We revisited the vet and are currently trying a new medication, but she is getting out of hand and I really believe she needs to be the only cat in a household. I’ve tirelessly been trying to find her a good home with no luck. I don’t want her to go to just anyone, I want to make sure they are experienced enough to understand her anxiety and are willing to give her a loving forever home. We unfortunately need her out of the house as soon as possible, as terrible as that is. I just want what’s best for her and she isn’t happy in her current environment. I’m worried about sticking her in a glass box at a shelter so that’s why this has been my absolute last resort, but I’m desperate for some help.
We have traveled with Lulu and when she’s on her own, she’s a completely different cat. Cuddly, affectionate, playful, and does not have any of her behavioral issues. I am confident with the right home she will thrive. We also have her on a pet health insurance policy that I’d be happy to transfer to a new owner if they would like.
