Faithful Friends Animal Society is seeking a self-starter with a passion to expand access to care through providing quality, lower-cost  veterinary care to those in need. Collaborate with a progressive team of shelter veterinary professionals at Faithful Friends Animal Society in northern Delaware. This position is available to veterinarians with leadership experience but also to those seeking an opportunity to learn and develop leadership, interpersonal and managerial skills as we work together to lead and develop the public-facing sides of our non-profit veterinary clinic at our new modern shelter in New Castle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide high-volume compassionate, quality preventative and basic wellness/sick care to patients using low stress handling techniques
Oversee all aspects of veterinary care during a clinic day including physical examination, diagnostics, treatment recommendations and prescribing of medications
Communicate with clients in a respectful way, and discuss physical examination and test results to allow pet owners to
make informed decisions about their pet’s care
REQUIREMENTS
DVM degree (or equivalent) with Delaware veterinary license
Experience in general small animal practice or shelter medicine required
Must be able to hold a DEA license
ADDITIONAL SKILLS, A PLUS:
High volume spay/neuter training at the Humane Alliance or related training
Ability to perform surgery like mass removal, hernia repair, etc.
Experience with life-saving surgeries in a non-ER setting
COMPENSATION
Competitive salary commensurate with experience $100.00/hour to $125.00/hour with a $10,000 Sign-on bonus or up to $5,000 Relocation bonus with Full-Time employment.
