
Kayla Mullen Named to Delaware Business Times’ Top 40 Under 40
Kayla Mullen, Marketing and Public Relations Manager at Faithful Friends Animal Society, has been selected for the Delaware Business Times’ Top 40 Under 40 Class of 2025. The annual program, known as the DBT 40, honors 40 young professionals under the age of 40 who are making significant contributions in their career fields and communities throughout Delaware.
With more than seven years of experience in marketing, communications, and public relations, Mullen brings a dynamic, mission-driven approach to her work in the nonprofit and animal welfare sectors. At Faithful Friends Animal Society, a no-kill animal shelter based in Wilmington, she helps lead all external communications, strategic campaigns, and digital marketing efforts, raising both awareness and critical funding for animals in need.
Mullen is recognized not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her leadership and commitment to community service. She has presented nationally on the power of social media in nonprofit work, including speaking engagements at the Humane Society of the United States’ Animal Care Expo and the Best Friends National Conference. She is a past recipient of the F.A.C.E. Award for Fundraising and Communications Excellence for her work on FFAS’ Annual Report and Delta Zeta’s national 35 Under 35 Award.
A Newark resident, Mullen earned her master’s degree in Communications with a focus in New Media and Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University. She also holds a B.S. in Marketing from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and a certificate in Social Media for Business from Temple University.
