Faithful Friends Animal Society (FFAS) Sees the Arrival of 36 Dogs From Overcrowded Rescues in New Mexico
(New Castle, Delaware, May 6th, 2024) —
Faithful Friends Animal Society (FFAS) is excited to announce the arrival of 36 dogs from overcrowded rescues in New Mexico. These dogs, ranging in age from 8 weeks to 6 years, will be welcomed with open arms and are eagerly awaiting their chance at finding forever homes.
The transport is set to arrive on Tuesday, May 7th at 9:00 am and the press is encouraged to attend to interview the drivers and staff who have helped organize the transport, as well as capture video of the puppies and adult dogs being welcomed to the no-kill shelter for the next step of their journey to adoption!
Executive Director, Jane Pierantozzi states, “While the rescue of Delaware dogs remains our top priority, there is a high demand for smaller breeds and puppies — they get adopted quickly and therefore we often have empty living spaces that were built specifically for them. By partnering with overcrowded shelters in other areas, we can help save more dogs who may be at risk. We step in to find the dogs loving homes in our community. In turn, the rescues transporting the dogs to us have more capacity to help dogs in their own community. These partnerships prevent unnecessary euthanasia and play a critical part in achieving the national no-kill goal for adoptable and trainable dogs. National data shows that shelters across the country have been facing increased intake numbers and lower adoptions, especially for large-breed dogs. We hope that anyone interested in adopting, will not only consider the puppies and small dogs but will take time to get to know our adult and large dogs too. We have so many wonderful dogs who are ready for adoption and just waiting for that special someone to walk through our doors.”
When the dogs arrive at Faithful Friends on Tuesday, they will receive thorough medical evaluations, from the organization’s on-site veterinary medical team, and be scheduled to be spayed/neutered. The dedicated care team of staff and volunteers will ensure that each dog receives love, care, and enrichment while they wait to be adopted.
“We are honored to be able to give these dogs a second chance,” said Pierantozzi. “We are grateful to our partners in New Mexico for entrusting us with their care and we are committed to finding loving homes for each and every one of them.”
All 36 dogs will be made available for adoption. Potential adopters are encouraged to visit the organization’s website or stop by their facility located at 165 Airport Road in New Castle, to meet these wonderful dogs in person. With a variety of breeds, sizes, and personalities to choose from, there is sure to be a perfect match for every family.
To boost adoptions, FFAS is also participating in the Bissell Pet Foundation Empty the Shelters event now through May 15th. Bissell Pet Foundation, a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending pet homelessness, is prompting a national call for adoption once again this spring with the “Empty the Shelters” reduced-fee adoption event. FFAS will be participating along with more than 410 shelters in 43 states. To help deserving shelter pets find loving homes, the Foundation sponsors reduced adoption during the nationwide events.
FFAS is participating through May 15, at their Airport Road location by offering $25 adoption fees for adult cats and adult dogs (over 35 lbs.), and $50 adoption fees for kittens.
