Volunteer Delaware: Governor's Volunteer Service Awards
Last night, we were thrilled to celebrate one of our incredible volunteers, Corey Staats, as he was honored at the Volunteer Delaware Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards. This award recognizes an adult volunteer who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to service and significantly improved the lives of others through sustained efforts, and Corey exemplifies those qualities every single day.
Since joining Faithful Friends Animal Society in early 2024, Corey has made an extraordinary impact on the animals, staff, volunteers, and community members we serve. Whether he’s spending quality time with shelter dogs, helping them feel safe and loved, or stepping up to deliver pet food through our Free Pet Food Delivery Program, Corey is always willing to go the extra mile.
This year alone, Corey helped deliver pet food to hundreds of households, supporting several hundred cats and 100+ dogs, helping families keep their beloved pets at home. His kindness doesn’t stop there; he regularly brings treats for volunteers, surprises staff with food on holidays, and lifts everyone around him with his positivity and generosity.
Corey embodies the true spirit of volunteerism: compassionate, reliable, selfless, and deeply committed to our mission. We are so grateful for all he does and couldn’t think of a more deserving recipient of this recognition.
Please join us in congratulating Corey on this well-deserved honor!
